Beiruti Hummus, a timeless Middle Eastern favorite, harmonizes creamy chickpeas with zesty lemon, bold garlic, and a hint of cumin. It's perfect for dipping with pita, bagel chips, or crisp vegetables.
In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, garlic, tahini, water, cumin, red pepper flake, salt, and fresh lemon juice.
1 can chickpeas, 3 cloves garlic, 3 tablespoons tahini, 3 tablespoons cold water, ½ teaspoon cumin, 1 teaspoon red pepper flake, 1 lemon, ½ teaspoon seasoned salt
Process the mixture until it becomes a coarse paste. Scrape down the sides of the processor with a spatula to ensure even blending.
With the food processor running, gradually add extra virgin olive oil. Continue blending until the hummus becomes smooth and creamy.
Taste the hummus and adjust the seasoning if needed. Add more salt, lemon juice, or red pepper flakes according to your preference.
Transfer the Beiruti hummus to a serving bowl. Add a drizzle of olive oil over the top, garnish with red onion, red bell pepper, parsley, and paprika. Serve immediately.
